Welcome to my blog. I believe some intros are in order. I'm a typical thirty-something millenial who doomscrolls through Facebook while waiting to pick up my children from soccer practice. I live in the midwest, which means I of necessity own a car to navigate through my daily life, and against all odds I can afford to own a home. I have a regular 8-5 job that went completely remote during the pandemic (and thankfully decided to keep that policy as a perk afterward), and I have at least three side-hustles that I split the rest of my brainpower on whenever I'm not with my family or comatose. In other words, I've made it. However, as the name of this blog would imply, "making it" leaves a lot to be desired. That isn't to say that I'm ungrateful for what I have--don't get me wrong, I can go on all day about how wonderful my wife, my kids, and my life in general is--but somewhere between massive car repair bills, insurance that is more elusive than the UFO...
